Certification
Eminence has been providing the beauty industry with organic alternatives to skin care since 1958. With the organic products market growing rapidly due to increasing consumer demand for food, cosmetic and nutraceutical products, it is becoming more important to look for proof of certification to ensure validity of organic claims. European certification is known to have the strictest guidelines and organic regulations worldwide. Eminence has long been certified organic by Biokontroll, the main certification organization in Hungary where most of their potent and active ingredients are grown. They are also certified by Demeter International which has been in use in Europe since 1928 and is still regarded as providing the highest standards for organic products in the world.

Eminence is picky when it comes to the ingredients in their award-winning products. Their products contain organic and Biodynamic® grown fruits, vegetables and herbs. It is important to read and understand the labels of the products you use and, with that in mind, there are some ingredients they avoid. Eminence products do not contain harmful chemicals or animal by-products such as Parabens, Petrolatum, Mineral Oils, Propylene Glycol or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Eminence products are not tested on animals and are packaged in environmentally-friendly packaging.

Why is it important to use organic ingredients?
Your skin is the largest organ of your body and ingests what you put on it so organic and natural products are the key to a healthy body, healthy skin and a healthy life. Are there fragrances and colors added?
Eminence uses non-harmful essential oils and the natural colors of fruits, vegetables, herbs and teas to enhance some of their products’ colors and scents.
How is the soap base different from SLS?
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is a foaming agent used in bubble bath and also a factory floor degreaser and is commonly used in products that foam or bubble. Eminence instead uses Cocamidopropyl Betaine derived from coconut oil as this ingredient is a great non-irritating cleanser.
What preservatives does Éminence use and what is the shelf life of their products?
Eminence uses natural, organic ingredients as preservatives such as honey, lemon, and a glycine derivative which is from soy as well as salicylic acid (under 5%) that is derived from willow bark and rosemary to slow down the oxidization process. The shelf life of the average Eminence product is 12 months.
How is it possible to still make products by hand in the amounts they produce each year?
The ingredients in Eminence’s products are still hand-picked and prepped and it is part of their eco-philosophy. They employ many farm laborers in Hungary which has also had many community benefits.
